These are the lightest softshell pants I've owned and the breathability really shows on steep climbs. The fabric stretches enough that scrambling over rocks doesn't feel restricted at all.

Wore these on a windy ridge hike and the softshell blocked the gusts without feeling clammy on the climb. Only gripe is there's no real pocket for my phone, just the small zip one. Light enough that I forgot I had them on.
