Wore this to a beach bonfire last weekend and it was exactly right — warm enough once the sun dropped but I never felt overheated sitting near the flames. The waffle knit breathes way better than my old cotton pullovers, and it layers fine under a jacket too.
The waffle knit on this one is thicker than I expected, but it still breathes enough that I didn't overheat wearing it on a cool morning hike. Layered it under a jacket and it held its shape fine.
