Took these up a steep, rocky trail last weekend and the grip on the descent honestly surprised me. The GORE-TEX lining kept my feet bone dry through a muddy section, and the mid cut gives just enough ankle support without feeling bulky.
Wore these straight out of the box on a muddy 8-mile loop and my feet stayed completely dry through every stream crossing. The GORE-TEX lining actually breathes too, which I wasn't expecting. Light enough to move fast on the climbs but still stable on the rocky descents.
These boots are impressively light for how stable they feel, and the GORE-TEX kept my socks dry through a muddy two-hour hike. Only gripe is the break-in period — the ankle collar rubbed a bit the first couple of outings before softening up.
