Wore this on a windy coastal hike and the hood actually stayed put instead of flapping around. The extra length covers my backside when I bend over, which is exactly what I wanted.
Wore this on a long, exposed ridge hike and the hood actually made a difference when the sun got intense. The extra length covers my hips nicely without feeling baggy, and the sleeves stayed put under my pack straps.
The hood and longer length do give decent coverage, but the fabric feels thinner than I expected for something meant to be out in the sun. It's fine for a quick walk, though I wouldn't count on it holding up to a full day of wear.
