The merino blend really does keep his hands warm without the sweaty clamminess he got from his old synthetic pair. He wore them the whole sledding afternoon and never once complained about overheating.
My son used to yank his gloves off halfway through sledding because his hands got sweaty, but these merino ones breathe enough that he keeps them on the whole time. They still block the cold on the walk to school.
