The full cushioning made a huge difference on our last hike — my daughter didn't complain about her feet once the whole way up. The crew height kept them from sliding down in her boots too.
These have become the socks my son actually asks for on hike days. The full cushion really does make a difference, no complaints about sore feet even after a long trail.
My daughter wore these on a muddy two-hour trail and never once complained about her feet, which is basically a miracle. The full cushioning under the sole is thick enough that she said it felt like walking on a pillow.
