That back drape is the real hero here — my son's neck stayed totally burn-free after two hours at the beach. The chin strap held through a gusty afternoon too, and he never once tried to yank it off.
The full brim actually shaded my daughter's whole face at the beach, and the back drape kept her neck from frying. The chin strap held tight through a windy afternoon without leaving any red marks.
Took this to the beach and the chin strap actually held through a gusty afternoon without rubbing under my son's chin. Only gripe is the brim is a bit stiff right out of the bag, but it softened up after a couple days.
