Steven ★★★★★

Forty tales means we got through a different one each night around the fire, and the short ones are perfect for younger kids who can't hang on much longer. "Gooey s'mores and a good scare" is basically our whole camping ritual now.

Emma ★★★★★

The stories are the perfect length to read aloud before everyone nods off — short enough to keep the kids hooked but creepy enough that they beg for just one more. S'mores and a flashlight, and this book does the rest.

Thomas K. ★★★★☆

Took this along on a weekend camping trip and the stories hit just right around the fire with the kids. Some of the older tales felt a bit tame for the adults, but the short format makes it easy to pick one and wrap up before bed.
