Pitched my stove on loose talus last weekend and it didn't budge once, which is more than I can say for the bare canister setup I used before. The base is light enough that I forgot it was in my pack.
Brought this along for a snowy overnight and my stove didn't budge once I set it on the base. It's light enough that I forgot it was in my pack, and the brass grips held firm on the icy crust.
Pitched this on a rocky, uneven site last weekend and my stove sat perfectly level the whole time — no wobble at all. It's light enough that I forget it's in the pack until I need it, and the brass build feels solid rather than flimsy.
