Wore these straight out of the bag on a weekend trip and they held up great — the canvas is thick enough for chilly mornings but never felt stiff. Pockets are deep enough that my phone doesn't slide out when I sit down.
The canvas has that broken-in softness right away, no stiff break-in period like other heavyweight pants I've owned. Wore them from a cool morning hike into town and they never felt too warm or too rugged for either.
Wore these canvas pants straight out of the bag for a weekend trip and they never felt stiff. Soft enough for the beach, sturdy enough for a hike the next morning.
