Wore these straight out of the box on a six-mile trail and had zero break-in issues. The roomy toe box is the real win for me, my toes never felt pinched on the downhills.
These replaced a heavier pair I'd been dragging around for years, and the weight difference is genuinely noticeable on long climbs. The toe box has plenty of room so my toes don't jam on descents, and the foam really does soak up the pounding.
