Wore these straight out of the box on a muddy 8-mile ridge loop and my ankles stayed locked in without the shoe feeling clunky. The waterproofing held up through two creek crossings, and I still felt the trail underfoot instead of stomping around in bricks.
Wasn't sure a waterproof hiker could still feel this light, but the ankle support on these is legit without any bulk. Splashed through a creek crossing and my feet stayed completely dry the whole way back.
