Wore these straight out of the box for a 6-mile hike and didn't get a single blister. The eight-part design really shows—less stitching to rub, and the strap adjusted easily with one pull.
The eight-part design is genuinely simple, and the straps adjust fine with a little tugging. But the footbed took a solid two weeks to break in, and I still get a hot spot on longer walks.
