Wore this on a windy ridge hike and the woven fabric breathed way better than I expected for long sleeves. It packs down to nothing in my daypack, and I didn't overheat once on the climb.
The UPF 40 protection really came through on a long, exposed ridge walk—my arms never felt fried even in direct sun. It's thin enough that I barely noticed it, but the breathable weave kept me from overheating.
Wore this on a full day of hiking in direct sun and the UPF 40 actually kept my arms from burning. The woven fabric is light enough that I forgot I had long sleeves on, and it still breathed fine on the climb.
