My daughter wore these shorts straight from school to soccer practice without complaining once, which never happens. The waistband actually stays put when she's running around, and they've held up through several washes already.
The mix-and-match tops and bottoms are handy since I can pair these with stuff she already owns, but the fabric feels thinner than I hoped for everyday wear. They're fine for school days, just not sure they'll hold up on the trail like the description suggests.
They do transition from school to sports fine, and my daughter likes that they have pockets. The waistband runs a bit loose on her though, so they slide down when she's running.
