The recycled fleece is genuinely soft, not that scratchy stuff you get with cheaper pullovers. I've been wearing it on morning dog walks and it blocks the wind better than I expected for something this light.
Wore this as a midlayer skiing last weekend and it kept me warm without the bulk under my shell. The repurposed taffeta panels on the shoulders shed snow nicely too.
The recycled fleece is genuinely soft and warm enough as a stand-alone on chilly morning walks. Only small gripe is the taffeta panels feel a bit stiff at the shoulders right out of the bag, though they seem to be loosening up.
