Wore this on a windy ridge walk and the hood actually stayed put without a hat underneath. The thinner fleece under the arms keeps it from feeling bulky, so it layers under a shell without bunching up.
Packed this for a week of hut-to-hut hiking and it barely took up any room in my bag. The flat-knit fleece on the hood and shoulders blocks wind way better than I expected, and the lighter fabric through the body keeps me from overheating on the climb.
