Bought this for my son's summer camp and the polyester microfiber is surprisingly soft, no scratchy feel at all. It's lightweight enough that he forgets he's wearing long sleeves in the heat.
My kid wore this on a full day at the beach and didn't complain once about it being scratchy, which says a lot. The polyester microfiber is genuinely soft for a UV shirt. Only wish the sleeves were a touch longer, but otherwise it's held up well after a few washes.
The shirt does feel light and dries fast after a day at the beach, which is what I wanted. But the polyester has a slightly slick, plasticky feel my son noticed right away, and he keeps tugging at the sleeves.
