The water-repellent shell held up great in wet slush on the walk to school. He also likes flipping it to the fleece side on dry days, so it's basically two jackets in one.
The reversible part sold me—he flips it to the fleece side on dry days and the water-repellent shell handles drizzle on the walk to school. Hood actually stays up in wind, which is rare for kid jackets.
My son wore this on a wet, windy hike and stayed completely dry, then flipped it to the fleece side for the car ride home. The reversible design means it's basically two jackets in one, which has been great on unpredictable mornings.
