Wore these on a windy ridge scramble and the soft shell fabric blocked the gusts without feeling clammy on the climb up. The four-way stretch meant I could high-step over rock slabs without the knees pulling tight.
The four-way stretch really makes a difference on steep bootpacks — I never felt restricted stepping high or scrambling over rocks. They breathe well enough that I didn't overheat on the climb up, and the soft shell fabric shrugged off light snow.
