The silicone ring actually seals tight, so no grounds sneak past into my mug like they did with my old press. Cleaned up easy at camp too, just a quick rinse and it was ready for the next pot.

Took this on a three-day trip and the silicone ring kept every drop of grit out of my coffee. Cleanup was a quick rinse at the creek, and it packs down small enough to forget it's in the bag.

The silicone ring makes a much tighter seal than the old mesh press I had, so there's hardly any grit in my cup. Only gripe is it takes a bit of effort to push the plunger down when the grounds are fine. Solid for morning coffee at camp.
