The Universal pattern actually lets me sketch a quick floor plan and jot measurements in the same spot, which I didn't expect to use as much as I do. Fifty sheets feels like the right amount for a project notebook, and the pages don't bleed through with my fine-tip pen.

The top spiral binding is what sold me, since it stays flat on my desk whether I'm taking notes or sketching quick scaled layouts on the Universal pages. Only gripe is 50 sheets goes fast when you write as much as I do.

The top spiral binding is handy since it doesn't get in the way when I'm writing, but the 50 sheets run out quicker than I'd like. The Universal pages work fine for both notes and quick sketches, though the paper's a bit thin.
