Wore these straight out of the box on a muddy ridge trail and my feet stayed completely dry through two stream crossings. The ballistic mesh doesn't trap heat like my old leather hikers, and the toe box gave me zero blisters on day one.
The Vibram Megagrip sole really does its job on wet granite, and I stopped worrying about slipping on the descent. My feet stayed completely dry crossing a shallow creek thanks to the GORE-TEX liner, which I honestly didn't expect from a low-cut shoe.
Wore these straight out of the box on a muddy ridge trail and the Vibram Megagrip sole grabbed wet rock like it was dry pavement. The GORE-TEX lining kept my socks bone dry through two stream crossings, and my feet never got swampy on the climb.
