The mid-rise waistband sits right where I want it and doesn't dig in when I'm scrambling over rocks. The fit is trimmer than my old hiking pants but I never felt restricted climbing or crouching.

Wore these on a rocky trail last weekend and the stretch really lets you step up without any pulling. Only gripe is the fit runs a touch slim through the hips, so size up if you're between.

Took these on a three-hour hike and the mid-rise fit never dug in or slid down, which is rare for me. The fabric moves well on steep climbs too. Only small thing is the sizing runs a touch big, so I'd try one down if you're between sizes.
