The two separate chambers are the whole point for me — car keys stay on one side and my house key on the other, so nothing tangles or jingles against each other. Stainless steel feels solid in hand too, not flimsy like the aluminum one I had before.
Clipping my car keys onto one side and the house key on the other keeps them from tangling in my pocket, which was the whole reason I bought this. The stainless steel feels solid enough that I don't worry about the gate popping open.
