Bought this for my daughter's walk to school and she hasn't complained about the cold once since. It squishes down small enough to shove in her backpack, and the down keeps her warm without the bulk of her old coat.

The hood actually stays up on windy chairlift rides, which is more than I can say for my kid's last jacket. Only gripe is it runs a bit small, so size up if your child is between sizes.

Got this for my 7-year-old to stuff in his backpack for chilly mornings at school, and it packs down small enough that he barely notices it's there. The hood stays put when he's running around, though I wish the pockets were a touch deeper for his mittens.
