Wore this on a soggy three-hour hike and stayed completely dry — the water-repellent finish actually holds up. The adjustable hood cinches down tight without blocking my peripheral vision, which was my big gripe with my old shell.
The pit zips are the real winner here — I ran warm on a steep climb and vented without stopping to take the jacket off. Water beaded right off the recycled fabric in a drizzle, and the hood adjusted down tight with one hand.
Wore this on a rainy ridge hike last weekend and stayed completely dry — the water-repellent finish actually holds up. Pit zips are a lifesaver on the climb when you're working hard but don't want to strip layers.
