It is built from Seawool, a midweight brushed twill made from upcycled oyster shells and recycled plastic bottles, and it delivers many of the same benefits as Free Fly's bamboo styles: temperature-regulating, quick-drying, anti-odor and remarkably soft. All those bottles never get the chance to reach the ocean.
Didn't expect a flannel made from oyster shells and recycled bottles to feel this soft, but the brushed twill is genuinely cozy. The oversized cut is roomy enough to layer a hoodie underneath without feeling bulky.
Wore this on a windy 50-degree hike and it blocked the chill without feeling bulky. The Seawool twill is midweight but breathes, and the oversized cut layers over a hoodie nicely.
The fabric feels softer and more brushed than I expected, and it's got enough weight to wear as a light jacket on chilly mornings. Runs roomy, so size down if you don't want it swallowing you.
