Designed in collaboration with the TNF™ athlete team, the Women’s Altamesa 500 is a highly cushioned and stable performance training shoe for trail running. I was worried a cushioned shoe would feel wobbly, but the DREAM midsole foam stays surprisingly stable on uneven ground. Three long trail runs in and my knees aren't complaining at all.
Took these on a rocky, rooty loop and the DREAM foam soaked up the descents way better than my old pair. The stability really shows on off-camber sections too, which is exactly what I wanted for longer training runs.
The cushioning is genuinely plush and the DREAM midsole soaked up rocks on my usual loop, no complaints there. But they feel heavier than I'd like on longer climbs, and the upper took a few runs to stop rubbing near the ankle.
