SKS stands for “same key system.” These 8 cores enable you to lock all of your yakima products with just one key.
Swapped the mixed keys on my roof rack and bike carrier for these and now one key opens everything on the truck. The cores dropped right into the existing lock housings without any fuss. Nice having a single spare key instead of a jingling mess in the glovebox.
Swapped all eight cores into my rack, cargo box, and two bike mounts in under twenty minutes and now one key opens everything. The cores seated with a solid click and the included key turns smoothly in each one.
Keying all eight cores to one key is convenient, but two of them were stiff and needed a firm turn before they'd lock. Fine once seated, just not the smooth fit I expected for the price.
