My kid actually keeps this on all day at the mountain, which never happens with hats. It fits under the helmet without bunching and the midweight fabric keeps his neck warm on the lift without overheating.
My daughter wears this under her ski helmet all day and never complains about it bunching up. The 4-way stretch fabric actually moves with her when she turns her head, which was the problem with her old one.
The 4-way stretch fabric is nice and it fits my son fine, but it's thinner than I expected for a "midweight" warmer and he still gets cold on really windy days. Works okay for mild weather, just not the deep winter coverage I was hoping for.
