These are the lightest softshell pants I've owned and the breathability really shows on steep climbs. The fabric stretches enough that scrambling over rocks doesn't feel restricted at all.
Wore these on a windy ridge hike and the breathability really stood out — never felt clammy even on the climb. Only gripe is the price for how thin they are, but for lightweight softshell pants they do the job.
