Took these on a muddy ridge trail last weekend and the grip stayed solid on wet roots and loose rock. The mid-height cut gives good ankle support without feeling stiff, and my feet stayed dry the whole six miles.

The waterproofing actually held up crossing a shallow creek, which I didn't expect from a mid-cut boot. Ankle support felt stable on loose gravel without any break-in period.
