Filled it with hot soup on a cold night and the silicone stayed cool enough to hold comfortably. The glass-reinforced nylon base feels way sturdier than the thin plastic bowl I used before, yet it still collapses flat into my pack.
The rim on this makes a bigger difference than I expected—way easier to grip with cold hands at camp. Packs down flat and barely adds weight to my pack. Only gripe is it gets a bit slippery when I've got greasy fingers, but that's minor.
The bowl holds its shape well once you pop it open, and the rim makes it much easier to grip when it's full of hot soup. Only gripe is that collapsing it back down takes a bit of a firm push, but it's light enough that I barely notice it in my pack.
