I was skeptical a mat this light would actually self-inflate, but it puffed up in about five minutes with barely any help from me. Packs down smaller than my old pad too, which freed up room in my pack.
Slept on this for three nights above treeline and barely noticed the cold ground underneath. The self-inflating part actually works — I opened the valve, ate dinner, and it was basically ready. Packs down smaller than my old foam pad too.
Took this on a two-night alpine trip and it inflated on its own in about five minutes without me huffing into it. My only gripe is it packs down a bit bulkier than I hoped for a lightweight mat. Slept fine on cold ground though.
