Wore this through a solid hour of rain on a hike and stayed completely dry underneath. The 3-layer fabric actually breathes too, so I wasn't clammy by the time I got back to the car.
The hood cinches down tight enough that rain doesn't sneak in at the neck, and after a sweaty uphill hike my shirt stayed dry underneath. It's not the lightest shell out there, but the 3-layer fabric actually breathes instead of turning into a sauna.
Wore this through a full day of steady rain and stayed completely dry underneath. The 3-layer fabric actually breathes, so I didn't feel clammy on the hike up.
