I was skeptical about the cable-and-ratchet lacing, but it actually dials in a snug fit in seconds and never loosens up mid-run. My feet stayed warm and comfortable through a full day on the slopes.
Stepping in and out of these boots is way less of a hassle than my old pair, and the cable-and-ratchet dial tightens evenly without any pinch points. I skied a full day my first time out and never had to fiddle with the fit once.
The Smartwrap system really does make these boots easy to get on—I'm usually wrestling with buckles for five minutes, but these slide on quick and the adjustment is simple once you figure out the ratchet feel. Wore them all day on the slopes and my feet stayed comfortable, no pressure points.
