Was worried the chicken would turn out rubbery after adding hot water, but it came back tender and the rice fluffed up nicely. The spice level is spot on too, enough heat to feel it without drowning out the creamy tomato flavor.
The creamy sauce actually rehydrates properly instead of turning watery like most freeze-dried meals I've tried. Chicken pieces were tender and the rice came out fluffy after about ten minutes with hot water. Solid dinner after a long day on the trail.
