The rubber exterior really does grip — I coiled one around a bundle of charging cables and it hasn't slipped once. The bendable wire inside holds whatever shape you twist it into, so I've been reusing the same two ties for weeks instead of buying velcro straps.
I wrapped one around the thick power cord behind my desk and it hasn't budged in two weeks. The wire inside actually holds the shape you bend it into instead of slowly unfurling like regular twist ties.
The rubber exterior grips cables well and the bendable wire holds its shape once you twist it around a bundle. That said, the rubber coating started to peel a bit at the ends after a few weeks of use. Works fine for light organizing, just don't expect it to last forever.
