Wore these on a long alpine tour last weekend and the soft shell fabric breathed way better than my old hardshell without feeling flimsy. The four-way stretch never fought me on steep steps, and I stayed comfortable the whole climb.
The four-way stretch really shows on steep kick turns—no bunching behind the knees at all. I've worn them on two back-to-back tours now and the fit stays comfortable even with a harness on.
Wore these on a wet, windy ridge scramble and the four-way stretch let me high-step over rocks without the fabric fighting me. They breathe way better than my old hard shell and never felt clammy on the climb up.
