I wasn't expecting much warmth from something this thin, but the ripstop shell really blocks the wind on my morning walks. It stuffs down tiny into my pack, so it's basically always with me now.
Wore this on a windy coastal hike and it blocked the gusts way better than I expected for something so thin. The recycled nylon ripstop shell feels tougher than it looks, and it stuffs down small enough to live in my daypack.
Packs down to almost nothing in my daypack, and the ripstop shell actually shrugs off wind on exposed ridges. Wish the zipper pulled a little smoother, but for a layer this light it's earned a permanent spot in my bag.
