The oiled leather broke in within a few days and now molds to my feet like they were made for me. I wore them through a gravel parking lot and the rugged PU sole never slipped once.
Wore these for a two-mile walk on a gravel trail the first day and the oiled leather didn't rub at all. The PU sole grips way better than my old flat sandals, even on loose dirt.
Wore these all over a rocky trail and the sole gripped better than I expected for a sandal. Only gripe is the oiled leather felt a bit stiff around the ankle strap the first couple days.
