The stainless steel strainer disc actually does its job — no grit in my cup at all, just clean coffee. It packs down into the pot with the rest of the system, so I'm not hauling extra gear.
The stainless steel strainer disc fits my 1.0L pot perfectly and keeps almost all the grit out of my cup. Brewing coffee on a windy morning at camp actually works now, and cleanup takes maybe a minute.
Packed this for a chilly morning at camp and had proper coffee in about five minutes, which beat my old pour-over routine. The stainless steel strainer disc keeps most of the grit out, though you'll still get a little sludge at the bottom of the cup.
