The upper on these feels noticeably tougher than my old pair, and after a few rocky runs there's barely a scuff. The new outsole really digs into loose dirt on steep descents, which is where I usually slip.
Wore these straight out of the box on a muddy 8-mile loop and the grip never slipped once, even on wet roots. The new upper feels noticeably tougher than my old pair after a few scrapes against rock.
The updated outsole really does bite on loose gravel, which is where my old pair used to slip. Took them on a rocky 10-mile loop and the grip held up fine on the descents. Only gripe is the upper feels a bit stiff around the ankle for the first few runs, but it's breaking in.
