Used these to tension a tarp over my firewood pile and the slide lock grabbed the rope without slipping at all. No knots to fiddle with, which is the whole reason I bought them.
The cast aluminum body feels way sturdier than the plastic tighteners I've broken before, and the SlideLock grabs the line without any knot tying. I set up a clothesline in about two minutes and it hasn't slipped once.
