These have held up way better than the sneakers my son used to destroy in a month. He wore them through wet grass and puddles all weekend and his socks stayed completely dry thanks to the waterproof membrane.
My kid stomped straight through a muddy puddle on our last hike and her socks stayed completely dry, so the waterproof membrane really does its job. They're light enough that she forgets she's wearing hiking shoes at all.
