I wore this on a two-hour hike in steady rain and stayed completely dry, which I honestly didn't expect. The 3-layer shell really is quiet compared to my old jacket, no crinkling with every step.
Wore this through a full hour of steady rain and stayed completely dry underneath, even around the shoulders where seams usually leak. The matte fabric doesn't rustle when I move, which is a welcome change from my old jacket that sounded like a chip bag.
The matte finish actually looks decent enough to wear into town, not shiny like most rain shells. Only gripe is the hood runs a bit big without a cap underneath, but the seam taping kept me bone dry.
