Bought this for my son's rainy-day walks to school and the DRYVENT shell has kept him completely dry through some proper downpours. It's breathable too, so he doesn't come home sweaty underneath like he did with his old plastic poncho.
The hood actually stays put when my kid runs around, which was my main worry. Wore it through a steady drizzle on a school walk and he came home dry underneath. The water-repellent finish really does make the rain bead right off.
