Took one of these gels at mile 8 of a long run and it kicked in fast without any stomach trouble. The electrolytes and amino acids make a real difference on hot days when plain water isn't enough.
The mix of simple and complex carbs actually hits differently than the sugary gels I've tried—no crash an hour later. I keep one in my jersey pocket for long rides and the electrolytes make a noticeable difference on hot days.
Took one of these mid-way through a 40-mile ride and the carb mix hit fast without any stomach sloshing. The electrolytes actually made a difference on a hot afternoon, and the packets fit easily in my jersey pocket.
