The hood actually stays put in gusty weather instead of blowing back, which is rare for a midweight jacket. It's light enough to layer over a sweater but still cuts the wind on my commute.

Wore this on a blustery walk and the hoodie blocked the gusts completely without feeling bulky. The midweight fabric is warm enough for chilly mornings but I can still layer it under a coat on colder days.

The windproof layer really does its job on my morning walk between buildings, though I wish the hood cinched a bit tighter. It's a solid midweight piece for fall, just not quite warm enough for real winter.
